Instructions

In order to create an API Token, a person needs to be an admin.

Getting subdomain

  1. Get to the login page of your Zendesk instance. The URL of the instance will be something like https://company-name.zendesk.com. Note down the part of the company-name. Remember this value, as it will be needed to integrate Zendesk with LeanIX SMP.
  2. Please make sure to input the just company-name part in the form.

Getting username

  1. Log in to your Zendesk instance. Remeber the email, that you used to log in, as this will be needed to integrate Zendesk with LeanIX SMP.

Enabling API token access

  1. In Admin Center, click Apps and integrations in the sidebar, then select APIs > Zendesk APIs.
  1. Click the Token Access toggle to enable API token access.

Creating an API Token

  1. In Admin Center, click Apps and integrations in the sidebar, then select APIs > Zendesk APIs.

  2. Click the Settings tab, and make sure Token Access is enabled.

  3. Click the Add API token button to the right of Active API Tokens.

  4. Enter an API token description.

  5. Copy the token and paste it somewhere secure. Once you close this window, the full token will never be displayed again. Remember this value, as it will be needed to integrate Zendesk with LeanIX SMP.

  1. Click Save to return to the API page.
